HTML, An Introduction:
HTML is abbreviation of Hyper Text Markup Language. Many people earn a lot of money through HTML and some one through creating free blogs. Whatever we look on the screen of Internet, actually it is performed by HTML. It is also called online documents which can be seen from any where and anytime in the world.
We have to remind for a common document in daily life that where and by which name it next part have saved in the computer rather through only one click we jump from one document to another and so on. Therefore it is called hyper text.
Markup Language (HTML):
The language in which we write hyper text, are called Markup Language. Markup language contain those commands which are necessary for web page. Browser read these commands that how text is to show on the web page, In large font or in small font, in black colour or in green colour and how should it appear on the web page by scrolling or blinking or simple. These commands are the basic of Markup Language.
What is Browser in HTML?:
Meaning of English word browser is to search, to look. According to computer language its meaning is that it is a software which is used to read markup language, to read correctly given commands and is to show correctly on the computer screen.
Actually browser read the HTML and show the search result on the screen that is called 'Web page'. That is to say, through browser whatever we find 'output' is called web page.
Functions of HTML:
Use of Editor:
We need a text editor like to write HTML. For this purpose we use "DOS's editor, VI editor of Unix, simple text editor of Macintosh and Notepad of Windows etc. Because notepad of windows is so easy and simple therefore we preferred notepad and recommend for you.
Use of Tags:
To write HTML the following commands are used,
"<" sign of less then
and
">" sign of greater then
We write all kinds of commands between 'greater then and less then sign' (<>). In HTML these signs are called 'Tags'.
Use of Slash (/):
When we write any kinds of HTML, we close it after finishing it purpose. If we do not close, it will be applicable in another place. So that we use slash (/) for closing a command of HTML. For example, if we start a command like this <HTML> and it is going to close with the following commands like </HTML>.
